Answer the call of the mountains.
Support vulnerable communities in Nepal, Bhutan and Ladakh. Your contribution to the Australian Himalayan Foundation helps build brighter, stronger, more secure futures for families living in one of the world's most majestic, yet fragile environments.
People in the remote Himalaya face the daily challenges of poverty, isolation & rugged terrain.
Your support helps provide quality education, vital healthcare and environmental protection where it's needed most.
By donating to the Australian Himalayan Foundation today, you’re supporting pathways to progress, contributing to a future where people in the Himalaya have access to essential services we take for granted in Australia.

Rising to the challenge in Nepal
Poverty
Nepal remains one of the world's poorest and least developed countries, currently ranking 146 out of 193 in the UNDP's Human Development Report. With a GDP per capita of around AUD 2,000, it lags behind India and Bangladesh.
Education
Although primary education is free and compulsory in Nepal, extra costs for books, uniforms and meals still force some children—mainly girls and kids from poor families—to drop out entering or finishing secondary school.
Healthcare
Nepal’s healthcare system struggles with low funding, poverty, and tough terrain, limiting access in remote areas. Rural clinics often lack basics and isolated communities face long journeys to reach care, with few staff, supplies or medicines.
